Welcome to Harping On: Thoughts from a Recovering Organist. Within the hallowed e-walls of this blog, readers will meander with me through posts on the interactions between music, art, politics and literature, and get a look into the life of a student at the Juilliard School. Overall, the goal is to grant readers an insight into the life of a working musician who plays some relatively rare instruments, namely the organ and the harp. But more specifically, the blog’s project is to share with non-musicians some of the inner-workings of the world of classical music, hopefully lifting the veils of obscurity and erudition that tend to surround “art music.” Comments and discussion are encouraged on the blog, so feel free to leave messages after the posts if you are so inclined. Enjoy!
